Prehistoric trees being planted in Hatfield, Welwyn Hatfield Times, 7th April 2011

Improvements to Mardley Heath, Welwyn Hatfield Life, Autumn 2010

Maydencroft Rural has constructed new footpaths and installed new signage across Mardley Heath Local Nature Reserve.

Cllr Colin Couch, executive member for environment, said: “The works will greatly improve accessibility to Mardley Heath.

“It’s fascinating learning about the biodiversity in the area, and by sign posting and creating information boards, it really opens up the space for visitors to learn more.”

New public allotments in Welwyn Garden City town centre, Welwyn Hatfield Times, June 2010

Maydencroft Rural converted two public flower beds in Wigmores South and turned them into vegetable gardens for Welwyn Hatfield Council, to honour the town's founder Ebenezer Howard’s two core values: self sufficiency and healthy living.

"Mardley Heath, near Woolmer Green, will benefit from improved accessibility, better signage and new circular walks, thanks to the £33,787 which has been given to the Countryside Management Service, which manages the site on behalf of Welwyn Hatfield Council."

Ickleford botanic burial ground opens, The Comet, 17th May 2010

Maydencroft Rural constructed a new burial ground for the village of Ickleford, near Hitchin.

Colin Thurstance, chairman of the Ickleford Burial Ground Trust said: "It is the largest project Ickleford Parish Council has ever taken on and it has worked extremely well. The villagers are over the moon."
