History

Following a devastating fire on Good Friday 1963, only a small archway now remains of the 18th century manor house which once stood at the centre of the estate. The park that surrounds the house was planted with conifers in the late 1960s by the estate's then owner but very little has taken place in recent years which adds to the charm and mystery that surrounds it.

Recently acquired by a private client, the estate has now secured planning permission and is building a new country house on the site of the former house.

The project

We have been commissioned to carry out the first phase of the landscape restoration, which includes extensive forestry works, individual tree works, rhododendron removal and restoration of the lake and park.

We are working very closely with landscape architects and ecologists to complete the detailed 'programme of ecological enhancement'.
