Creeping Thistle (Cirsium arvense)
Creeping thistle is an aggressive perennial weed of grassland and arable crops. It spreads vegetatively by means of root fragments.
Methods of control
- Cutting - repeated cutting may 'wear down' an infestation but must be continued for several years to succeed.
- Chemical treatment - The most commonly used method. It is clean, efficient and if the correct application is followed it can be completely eradicated from a site.
